South Africa vs West Indies 3rd ODI Preview

20 Mar 2023
All the insights and tips for the 3rd ODI between South Africa and West Indies.
In this preview, we take a closer look at the upcoming match between South Africa and West Indies. Both teams will face off against each other for the third time in the One Day International (ODI) series. Let's delve into the team previews.
South Africa
South Africa's Bavuma played a magnificent knock of 144 runs in the last game, saving the team from a total collapse. Though the batting support was low, with van der Russen scoring eight and de Kock picking up 48 runs, Bavuma is expected to continue his good form after his century in the last test match. The team had a jittery start in the last game with new batters, Ryan Rickleton, Tony de Zorzi, and Tristan Stubbs, but hopefully, they will show better performances in the upcoming game.
Bowler Coetzee is new to the team, but he displayed a good effort with 3/57 and will be useful in later matches. Fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, who was awful with 0/76 and a bad ER of 7.60, received criticism, but he should bounce back as he has 71 wickets in 41 ODI innings. The South Africa team is expected to perform better in the third game.
West Indies
The West Indies played an impressive game in the last match, with Shai Hope's unbeaten knock of 128 runs being the highlight. Though Pooran scored only 39 runs, Hope's exceptional form saved the team from a total collapse. Hosein and Joseph were the key bowlers, and they helped win the game, with Hosein being especially efficient with a good economy rate of 5.90 after bowling the full 10 overs permitted.
The West Indies team will play hard, but it's unlikely that Hope will again score a century, and perhaps Hosein won't bowl as effectively on the new pitch. It will be interesting to see if the Windies can repeat such a performance, as they'll move to a new pitch in the third game.
RSA vs WI Betting Tips
In the previous match, the West Indies won fairly easily, and their odds on Satbet are impressive. However, we think South Africa will play far better in the third game and make some improvements. The pitch is different, and this brings a whole new element to the game. We expect Coetzee to progress, and Ngidi can't bowl as badly as he did in the second game.
The West Indies will play hard like usual, but it's not likely that Hope will again score a century, and perhaps Hosein won't bowl as effectively on the new pitch. It will be a close game, but we trust South Africa to recover and prove why they're the favourite.
